Welcome
It is my love of fishing that brought me to find Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons. I was very nervous about going on the ocean and not knowing what I was doing. In 2005 I bought my first boat and was ready to venture out. I first took the boating course even though I already had my PCOC that I earned from challenging a course at the fishing expo in Calgary. I knew very little about a bouy or what that even meant. I soon gained some knowledge and from there I wanted to expand that knowledge, so after a few different courses I started to proctor students in the boating courses and then on to actually Teaching. I have enjoyed giving back some of the knowledged I learned from many different instructors and the knowledge that they have.
I have been active within the organization and the gatherings that are organized by the different squadrons. I enjoy talking to the other members and to get answers to some of those questions that you forget over time by not using the information gained from the classroom.
It is important to me to give back as I truly believe everyone has a responsibility to be safe on the water. It can be a very scary place when the conditions are just right. Things happen very fast. I truly wish everyone happy sailings and fair weather.
